Bulldog Rescue Information: The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.

Bulldog Trivia: A Bulldog named Uga is the beloved mascot of the University of Georgia. The term Bulldog originated in medieval times and was applied to brave dogs that would attack bulls in arena combat. The English Bulldog is the mascot of the U.S. Marine Corps. Bulldog puppies often have to be delivered by C-section due to the breadth of their heads. Bulldogs have such jowly facial folds that they need to have their teeth brushed and their facial folds cleaned out on a daily basis.
