However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.

Bulldog Trivia: A Bulldog named Uga is the beloved mascot of the University of Georgia. Bulldog puppies often have to be delivered by C-section due to the breadth of their heads. Bulldogs have such jowly facial folds that they need to have their teeth brushed and their facial folds cleaned out on a daily basis.
