My foster parents just open the door and out I go! Potty training is a piece of cake so far, but practice makes perfect. I sleep throughout the night and I am being trained to sleep in kennel, which is great for me because that's where I'm comfortable! Do you want to know a funny secret about me? I like to sniff shoes! Lucy Belle was saved from the shelter with one tiny but plump pup while she was just skin and bones herself. She was a perfect and selfless mother and now that her work of raising her baby is done and she has recovered and is healthy it is time for her to be someone's baby. She will need a special home with someone that is home and understands the love and patience a rescue dog may take to help them feel at home with a new family. She has been great around kids of all ages (even a 6 month old baby) Fence must be strong and secure at least 6' or more with a locked gate. This girl is smart and can sniff any weakness in construction and will happily open up a latch to let herself out. A home with NO cats (and no plans to have cats in the future) She is old fashion that way and lives by the motto that dogs and cats should not live together. Lucy Belle can have a lot of anxiety and feels put out when she is left alone for long periods of time. With the condition she was found in she was most likely abandoned and will have anxiety about being alone. So a home where there are people around throughout the day and night and is patient with her and can help with rehab for separation anxiety will help her put her fears at ease. She is housetrained and will wait by the front door when she needs out. She doesn't make a fuss though and if you don't notice after a long time she may have to find a spot inside. A doggy door for Lucy Belle would be perfect. She is a WONDERFUL dog who will make someone a great companion. Autum was abandoned on an isolated road in SW Dallas that many dogs are abandoned on. She came running up to one of our volunteers that was going on to private property to tend to other dogs that were abandoned on the same road that we are trying to find homes for. She was so friendly and tried to jump in the volunteers car. We believe she is about a three year old, bulldog mix. She is super friendly to people but is choosy with dogs she considers friends. Bulldogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
