Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00333Winston (male)

Bulldog    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Winston is a 7 year old English Bulldog as of January 2017. He is brindle, neutered and about 68 pounds. He is good around dogs as well as children. His favorite past time is getting his belly rubbed and taking LOTS of naps. He's gotta get his beauty rest. If you have some experience and knowledge on how to take care of bulldogs then he's your guy! PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website ... (Read More)http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Bulldog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Adoption fee: $500 Location: Houston area Sweet and gentle Romeo is a laid back gentleman who just wants to be safe and loved. Romeo likes to relax near his people. He is content to lay on a cozy blanket, a soft pillow, or his bed. He also loves to catch some rays on a cool, sunny day. If you are looking for a Bulldog who will always be by your side to snuggle and cuddle, Romeo could be the one for you. Romeo is the kindest and gentlest dog his foster family has ever known. He is not dominant and has no aggression issues whatsoever with other dogs, food, or toys. He is crate and leash trained and can be left unattended with no issues. ... (Read More)This sweet fella does NOT like to exercise. AT ALL. Well, unless you count the happy dance he does when it's breakfast and dinner time. Romeo will bark and wiggle until his food is placed in front of him. It's totally adorable! Romeo does have arthritis and dry eye that require daily medications. He did have chronic ear infections before so his ears need to be monitored and cleaned. His canals do have some hardening due to this neglect. Romeo is very good about taking his eye and joint medications and waits to get his treat afterwards. He would not do well in a home or apartment with stairs or with small children who could be rough with him. Romeo requires a high-quality, grain-free food to keep his coat shiny and his skin clear. He is crate-trained and will enter his kennel on command. Just about any type of home would be great for Romeo, so long as there are plenty of opportunities for snuggling and snoozing with his people! Of course he would love to have a person to keep him company during the day, but he would also be just fine staying at home with his doggie companion (with a midday break to use the facilities, of course). Romeo would also make an excellent take-to-work dog, as long as you don't expect him to do much more than nap at your feet! If Romeo sounds like the dog for you, then give a click on the link below and tell us why you'd make a perfect match. He will be waiting for you! (Less)

Adoption fee: $450 Location: Houston area Whoa Nellie......Hi folks, my name is Nellie and I was picked up as a stray and found myself in the shelter. My owners never came forward to claim me so SMRS came to rescue me and take care of my numerous medical needs. I had the largest cherry eye that anyone had ever seen and if that wasn't enough I had a deep ulceration on the same eye. I was filthy dirty and covered with fleas, but luck was on my side and I am happy to report I am heartworm negative. Unfortunately, my eye did have to be removed and I am getting along just fine without it and the pain is gone which is the best part of all. I ... (Read More)am a sweet, happy girl who loves attention, running in a fenced yard, short walks around the block and in my spare time I am found chewing on a Nylabone curled up on my favorite blanket. I am not fond of small or large dogs at all, but I am quite happy with fur friends who are the same size as I am. I can be unpredictable so being an only dog is probably best for me. I am not compatible with cats or birds as I have to admit I love to chase both any chance I get. I am a independent, but stubborn bully girl and I can be crafty in getting what I want. I am crate trained, with no anxiety, but prefer to have company or at least a midday break. I will have accidents from time to time in my kennel, but only if I get excited. I like children and I will be best placed with a family with children 12 yrs and older. We have said Not Good with other dogs altho after careful introduction he has made doggie friends, he appears to be nervous when meeting new dogs probably because he was found as a stray and was most likely attacked by other dogs altho he doesnt have any wounds to show. His calm and loving demeanor would be the perfect companion dog for someone who needs companionship. He truly is a darling boy.

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My wife and I found a pregnant pit/bulldog mix (Cocoa) in a Walmart parking lot in December. We already have two American Bulldogs. We were quickly asked to leave our condo in FW because they only allow two dogs per unit and they suspected Cocoa was a pit. On New Years Eve, we moved into my grandmother-in-law's house in Richardson to raise and ween the puppies. My grandmother-in-law (and her Maltese) coincidentally was placed in rehab for a few months so her house was available. We adopted out all the puppies to good homes, so only Cocoa remains. Cocoa is phenomenal with people - adults and kids. Cocoa was fine with our American ... (Read More)Bulldogs for over two months until she became quite jealous and possessive of my wife and I. She got into two fights with one of our American Bulldogs. To separate the dogs, my wife moved back to our FW condo and while I still live in Richardson. Plus, most urgently, my grandmother-in-law is being released from rehab early this week, so Cocoa and I can no longer stay in her house. After speaking with a reaction-training professional, Cocoa needs to be in a single-dog home or put down. We can only keep her for another 10 days before we have to put her down. The trainer does not believe she would not do well in a shelter. Please let me know if y'all can help. Cocoa has been blasted/shared on social media through rescue groups, and I have been taken her daily to Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, and home improvement stores and passing out flyers. She doesn't do well yet at adoption events because she barks at other dogs. We can donate/cover any necessary costs. (Less)

Bulldog    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi guys my name is Damon. My foster parents tell me that they named me after a pretty awesome guy, so I was cool with them changing it. Now I know what you're thinking ''He doesn't look like a boxer!!'' Technically I'm an English Bulldog but my sister was a boxer and my previous family needed to find us both a home so the nice people at LBR decided I could be an honorary boxer. Since they told me that I've started working on a kidney bean greeting to people and a butt wiggle like my sister use to do. Unfortunately my frame wasn't built for either of those two things so you'll just have to be happy with my adorable squishy face. I lived ... (Read More)the last few years outside and my foster parents tell me that being a Bulldog outside was the worst place for me. Right now I have a few medical issues that my foster parents are trying to get under control. Apparently all these wrinkles and living outside weren't good for me. They also tell me that I have a few typical Bulldog behavioral issues that need to be corrected before I'll be ready for adoption. My foster dad has nick named me Sir-Humps-A Lot but I'm not sure why. He tells me that most people don't like to be greeted that way. My foster parents tell me that I'll probably be ready to start looking for a forever family sometime around April if they can get my medical issues under control so keep checking back if you'd like to meet me. My foster parents say that they'd really prefer my forever family to have previous Bulldog experience because a typical boxer family won't like all my shenanigans. Whatever they're taking about.' However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
