TEDDY is a sweet 4 year old Boxer/Bully mix male who was living life on a chain, neglected and abandoned. The rescue was contacted to help because Teddy was emaciated and in need of medical care and his owner was no longer there. He was rescued and has been off the chain and in a safe, loving foster home ever since. He was only 44 pounds when rescued but he has regained weight and has received the care and treatment needed to get back to being a healthy dog, ready to find a new home. He tested positive for heartworm but has completed the treatment needed to rid him of heartworms. He has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Teddy if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received. (Less)

Hi there! My name is Titan and I am looking for a forever home. I am about 4 years old (as of 7/17) and weigh 62 pounds. I am a stocky bull dog mix with beautiful blue eyes. I am deaf, but as you can see that has not stopped me from being a happy and fun loving boy. I do well with other dogs, kids and cats. A few dogs even tried to bite my face and I simply looked the other way. As for when I meet new people, I am excited when I first meet you, but after that I'm a pretty laid back guy. I'm heavy chested, so I can pull a bit at first when we are on a walk, but after a couple of minutes I slow right down to a nice slow pace. I am crate trained and I do well in the house. I am always supervised in my foster home and on a schedule here, so I may need to get used to your home and where the door is for me to let you know I need to go out to use the bathroom. I don't bark often. In fact, I'm quite the quiet boy and I just like to lounge around for the most part. I also like to play in the yard and go for walks, if you're up for that! If you think you are the right person or family for me, please complete the online application at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org and a volunteer at RARE will call you right away! My adoption fee is $85.00. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. *PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT RURALANIMALRESCUEEFFORT.ORG **An application and home visit/meet & greet are required prior to adoption. All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have. Our ability to perform out of state adoptions is limited and reviewed on a case by case basis. If you are not in TN, please ask us about the potential of adopting the specific animal you are interested in. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. ***Please Note*** The breeds noted are guesses on the part of the volunteers of RARE based on the physical characteristics of the particular animal. We are not breed experts and cannot afford to perform DNA tests; therefore, the noted breeds may not be exact. (Less)

Bulldogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
