Rescue Me ID: 17-03-25-00157Gladys (female)

Bulldog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Gladys is a sweet older female English bulldog. Originally rescued from euthanasia after having a few litters at an Amish puppy mill, she was very timid when we first got her. It was probably a year before we heard her bark. Over the past year though she has started barking at, jumping on, and sometimes biting (not harmful bites, but still, has broken the skin once or twice) visitors to our home. She has never been aggressive with the five people (including 3 kids) who live here, or our other dog, and is not aggressive toward other animals or humans when we take her on walks, to the vet, to the groomers, etc. She only does this on our ... (Read More)property. We think that with adequate training this behavior could be corrected, but with 3 kids and another baby due soon, we are not in a good position to provide this training. And we are concerned as to how she will react to the new baby. We are hoping to find a good loving home for her, ideally with someone who could put a little time/effort into training her if these overly protective behaviors eventually resume at her next home.
