Rescue Me ID: 14-06-01-00254Adora (female)

Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Adora - we were lucky enough to be able to take this sweet girl in to our rescue. She was someone's pet in South Carolina, but they let her wander around and kept her as an outdoor dog. They finally relinquished her, but unfortunately the damage was already done. She was heart worm positive. We have put her through the heartworm treatment already and she should test heartworm negative in about 6 months. She is spayed and up to date on shots. She gets along with other dogs and LOVES humans. She is a small girl - 35 LB and will not get any bigger. Estimated to be around 2 years old. She is a little shy at first and we are still ... (Read More)working on learning potty training. Being an outdoor dog previously put her at a disadvantage - but we are working on it. She is still having accidents so that is something we want everyone to understand up front. She is by far one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met and she is THE best cuddler ever. She prefers free roam of the house (She does not like to be behind a closed bedroom door or in a crate) and if left to roam, she has not been destructive in the house. She does not destroy her crate if crated, but she gets worked up and you will be cleaning up a mess and giving her a bath. She's had a very tough life and someone mistreated her along the way that is for sure. But with all the quirks she has - she is still simply amazing. If you are interested in meeting Adora, please email us for an application. thegoldenpittierescue@comcast.net (Less)

However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
