Rescue Me ID: 16-09-17-00351Wilbur (male)

Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Wilbur is a sweet and goofy 1-year-old tan-and-white male Bulldog mix who came to Northwest Dog Project from a high-kill shelter in LA. Weighing roughly 45 lbs, our staff has described him as the happiest dog they've ever met! And he definitely has that special puppy-like love of life! A real love bug with people (he won't hesitate to hop right up into your lap for attention), he also gets along with other dogs. Because of his enthusiasm, he should be properly introduced to new canine friends so as not to overwhelm them, though and would do best in a home with older children until he has his basic obedience down a bit more. Wilbur sits on ... (Read More)command, shows signs of being housebroken, and walks well on leash although he could use some extra training on leash to perfect his skills. Super handsome with his adorable squishy face, Wilbur will make an incredible buddy for an active and loving family understanding that he is a strong dog with lots of playful puppy energy. Wilbur is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-09-00345Zeus (male)

Bulldog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Zeus is a handsome 5/6-year-old tan and white male English Bulldog whose owner passed away, unfortunately the extended family was not able to provide Zeus with the care he needed so he ended up in our program. Weighting around 50lbs, this guy shows signs of being house trained and is okay on leash but honestly would much prefer a car ride! Zeus is pretty low-key, but gets spunky from time to time and loves to prance around with toy in his mouth and then will lean on his person to settle down and relax. Zeus's previous owner was a man and he tends to bond better with and respect men more. He is a goofy, loving guy who'd make a great ... (Read More)companion for an adult male. And if you're on the road a lot, even better Zeus makes an excellent passenger and LOVES being in the car. Zeus does have some typical Bulldog traits such as resource guarding with his high value treats and toys, so we think a home with no young kids would be an ideal fit. He has made improvement in these areas since being at the rescue and we believe with on-going training he will continue to make progress. Zeus knows his basic commands and is definitely a character that will make you laugh on a regular basis. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-09-00338Miss Piggy (female)

Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Miss Piggy is a dreamy 3-year-old tan-with-white-markings spayed female Staffordshire, Bulldog mix who came to Northwest Dog Project from a high-kill shelter in LA where she had been picked up as a 'stray'. Weighing roughly 55 lbs,(Piggy could benefit from shedding a few pounds) Piggy is a staff favorite thanks to her delightfully goofy and affectionate personality. We are unsure of Piggy's exact history, but we do think she may have experienced some not so nice humans in her life time. She can take a minute to adapt to new situations and people, but once she's comfortable and you've gained her trust she is nothing but love. Piggy relishes ... (Read More)in her humans company (she shows her appreciation for her human friends by flopping onto her back for some serious belly rub sessions), and she is equally sociable with other dogs, she gets along especially well with playful males. Piggy walks politely on leash, but can use a little extra encouragement out on her walks from time to time, she knows her basic commands and recently spent 2 weeks with our trainer and she had delightful things to say about Miss Piggy's stay. Piggy will be a fantastic best friend to a family that will understand her needs and that will take an assertive, but gentle approach to her on-going training and socialization. Piggy is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and crate trained. (Less)
