Animal ID: 10241Nena (female)
This sweet 2 year old Bulldog/Boxer mix is Nena. We are in love with this sweet lady. This big girl is super affectionate and a huge mush. Nena loved cuddling into us, she thinks she is the size of a lap dog. Nena walks well on lead, stopping along the way for extra pets. This smart girl sits and offers paw on command for a treat, which she accepted softly from our fingers. Nena prefers snuggle time over play time and showed no interest in our toy selection. This happy girl had no issues sharing both her rawhide and food bowl with us whenever asked. Nena got along well with the male and female dogs she met outside, so stop by and meet Nena today. (Less)

Animal ID: N1006Moon (male)
This one year old Boxer/American Bulldog mix is Moon. Moon walks well on a leash, and is very people focused. This friendly boy sits on command for a treat, which he accepts softly from our fingers. He showed no interest in toys or rawhide during his evaluation. In fact, he gently nudged the toys out of the way to get closer to our evaluator. Moon is happiest leaning against a person receiving as many pets as possible. Moon was well-mannered at his food bowl, and got along with the male dog he met outside. For more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Moon, please call HSARC at (908) 892-8166 or HunterdonSomersetARC@gmail.com

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-16-00204Maggie (female)
Maggie is a total sweetheart however, she's very aggressive with other animals and she doesn't like babies, for some reason. She's ok with older kids but she's very unpredicatable. She's extremely loveable and extremely protective. I have another dog and a child and a baby on the way. She's already attacked my other dog while he was sitting on my son's lap and my son ended up with various bites and scratches. She's the perfect girl for a quiet home, she has tons of love to give, she loves to snuggle and she demands kisses!

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-17-00209Goofy (male)
Goofy was found abandoned on a busy road by good Samaritans. They swooped him up off the dangerous road and got him to the shelter. Unfortunately Goofy became very stressed at the shelter, he was losing hair, losing weight, and became very reactive in the kennel. The noise and stress for some dogs is just unbearable. The good Samaritans had stayed in touch with the shelter to make sure Goofy was safe. They reached out to us after the shelter told her how badly Goofy had deteriorated. He was in danger of being euthanized. Together we couldn't let that happen...Together we found a way to save Goofy. He is now in foster at the Paw House Retreat. in South Jersey with Sydney Barber who does Boarding and Training. She has been training this lovable, goofy boy and tells us he has been great with all dogs. He is an active pup, who likes to play and would do well with an active family. If you're interested in adopting (or fostering!) one of our Don't Bully Us Rescue puppies or dogs please go to http://www.dontbullyus.net/forms/adoption-application/ and fill out an online application. If you know the name of the pup, add it to your application. If you don't know the name of the puppy, just add a brief description of it or what you are looking for! After approving your application, we will contact you for a meet and greet! We have dogs ranging from newborn puppies to senior dogs in our rescue all looking for their forever homes. You can check out our latest pictures of our adoptable pups and dogs as well as were we will be for our next adoption event on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dontbullyusrescue We look forward to receiving your application! |PIease Read Before Adopting a Bulldog in New Jersey|
Bulldogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
