I NEED A FOSTER!! Hi! I'm Leroy! I was rescued by Paw Prints in the Sand. I'm a 13 year old Olde English Bulldog. I was in a high kill shelter, and they didn't want me to die there. I am super affectionate. I love people!! I haven't been tested with other dogs yet, but I haven't reacted to them on walks- not even to the little dogs that bark at me. I love, love, love car rides. Rescue Me ID: 18-01-01-00036Mum bee (male)

Bulldog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Mum bee is the sweetest little dog for the most part, well towards me and other women anyway and it kills me to put him up for adoption, actually not my decision at all, I got the ultimatum. It's me or the dog he said. And I said see ya.I let my fella of 9 years move out, that's how much I love this little guy. But after 10 days alone I've decided to put my dog up for adoption. :( I do understand his position somewhat, mum bee did bite him and it wasn't a little love bite either. And they have not been able to be in the same room since it happpened. So they each have had their own half of the house. It's been difficult and it's not really ... (Read More)fair to either one of them I guess. This dog is scared of men, not all of them but large, loud, Alfa males, I believe he was abused. I would not think he would have issues with children but this is something I would not be comfortable with. He is fine with women. He is just so sweet when it's just me and him, he just wants to be near you and nuzzle your toes, he cuddles and sleeps next to me when he can...when he is relaxed and has been well excercised. He has a lot of energy for a bulldog. He needs daily walks sometimes twice a day. If he gets his walks he is much better behaved. This may sound obvious but with this dog it makes such a difference I spent 400$ on a doggy treadmill for raindays. If he is wound up, he get anxious and is more prone to getting nippy. Sometimes if you get him too riled up while playing with him he will get his circuits crossed and things will change from friendly to nippy, and worst case he will get after it. I am able to see this change in him and disengage with out issues but not everyone out there is as observant as me or dog savvy. Mum bee is for an experienced dog person, preferably female but a kind mello male who really gets his cues could also do just fine with Mum bee. He gets scared of large males especially if they are loud or are moving around a lot and ignoring him. For some reason being ignored seems to adgitate him. I was going to take him to a behaviorist but I ran out of money. I'm looking for more work now and that's another reason I'm looking for someone who wants to take him, he really doesn't like being left alone. He doesn't bark or do anything crazy, actually you can leave him for periods of time and he won't make a peep. He crates really well, he loves to sit in the back of my car, absolutely loves it and refuses to come out sometimes for hours. I think it makes him feel safe but he can still watch the world go by, way better than sitting in a kennel inside. So he can be left alone but he doesn't like it and he gets more anxious I think. I'm pretty sure he would love to have another dog around to play with too. I've never had any issues with other dogs, not once. He doesn't get dominant if anything he gets submissive. The dominant thing comes out only with people, not all of them,, just large males, I think they remind him of someone who wasn't that kind to him. Oh that's the other thing, he does not like arguing. He will get nippy if he hears anyone argue or tension building he can sense it and it sets him off. He can't be around stress like that. I have used a muzzle with him, I just didn't care for it much, neither did he. He will allow you to put it on no problem but then he runs around fiercely struggling to get out of it. Eventually he will stop but then I feel bad and take it off cause it's hard to breath when your a bull dog and your winded and wearing a muzzle. Dont know sometimes I think he's autistic. Definitely a special dog. He would be great for someone who is experienced preferably female, maybe a woman who wants a dog for protection and of course to snuggle with cause he really is a lover. So yes he bites but it's predictable, there are obvious triggers and cues and it can totally be avoided. I have a cat and I don't have to worry about leaving them together alone he doesn't want anything to do with her. He doesn't chew.hes crate trained, he's potty trained. And I think he's almost 3 years old. Still a puppy in his mind though. I can pick him up but he might be too heavy for some. Maybe 45 lbs. he's a muscular stout well built good looking dog, outside of the obvious underbite deformity. He is just so cute, people stop in the street and he loves it when the women come up to him ogling 'omg he is too cute!' , it's just his mind that has had some warpage I'm afraid. Well there you have it, I believe in full disclosure. I really wish they had mentioned some of these things to me before I adopted him. Maybe we could have avoided the situation between him and my boyfriend . Then I wouldn't be having to do this. I have had mum bee for a little over a year now. The incident happened in the first two weeks we had him and the rain had been coming down relentless for days we had no power, he was probably a little freaked out and the two of them never made up. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella has made her way home. From where you ask? The mid-west. You see, as a puppy, Bella belonged to a family. The humans in the family couldn't stay together. One of the members took Bella and sold her to a breeder. As a puppy herself, she was forced to breed over and over again. Over the course of her 6-yr life, she was sold to 3 different breeders. Meanwhile, her original human mom was tracking her and trying to buy her freedom. She was finally able to, with the help of volunteers, raise enough money to pay the breeder for Bella's rights and get her transported back here. Bella is now spayed and will never have to worry about breeding ... (Read More)again. She is ready for a new home with other dogs and kids. She has lived with both male and female dogs and seems to like them equally. Oh, but cats'| she hates them. She currently lives with children and loves them!     Charlie is a great boy who was rescued from a high kill shelter. He has a slight vision impairment and can get startled if approached fast. He is playful and a big goofball. He is crate and potty trained, and loves to snuggle with his foster mom. He is shy but warms up quickly. Right now we are working on his leash manners. No food issues, however he does love his toys and is not apt to share with others. We need someone who is experienced with the bully breed and would recommend an adult only household.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bulldog in California
Bulldogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
