After a long time debating, we have decided that it would be best to find our beloved dog a new home. Our children and myself have allergies and although she is literally the BEST dog, we can not suffer any longer. Her name is Bubbles, but we call her Bebo as a nickname. She is 5 years old, but don't let her age fool you! She is still as energetic and loving as a younger dog! She is registered with NKC. She is spayed and microchipped! She is house trained. She is AWESOME with kids! We rescued her in January 2015. When Bubbles came to us she was very unhealthy. She was on several medications in which some were because of her weight. The day ... (Read More)we got her she could barely get out of the car. She struggled getting up our 3 porch steps. When she came to us she did not know how to eat dog food out of a bowl. They SPOON fed her. Not because they had to, because they WANTED to. I wish I was lying, but its the truth. They gave her 'much needed medication' with a bowl of ice cream. 3 TIMES A DAY! Again, wish I was lying but I am not. After consulting with a vet we figured the greatest plan would be to mold Bubbles into a dog again. We cut feeding down to once a day, weaned her off her unnecessary medication, stopped ice cream immediately and started her on a health plan with exercise. Within a week she had dropped 7 pounds of bloat! Within 2 months she was back at a healthy weight! She eats dog food out of a bowl now and doesn't have ice cream anymore! :) It absolutely breaks our heart to have to find her a new home but our allergies have gotten so bad that we have had to move her to our back deck. Our deck is covered, but still she is an incredible dog and deserves to be inside with a family! 'ۢ'ۢI will not rehome Bubbles to just anyone! Im not AS strict as some pet rescues but I do have a list of things. 'ۢCurrent English Bulldog owners and people experienced with the breed will have better chances than others at being selected. 'ۢShe will have to be the only dog, or another English Bulldog for a playmate. 'ۢShe HAS to be an inside dog. With Summer quickly approching she CAN NOT be outside all day! 'ۢRehoming fee of $500. NO SPAM!!! (Less)

He is excellent with small children, ... (Read More)not an issue in the world with friendly dogs, and seems to be afraid of our two resident cats. Whoever gets this lil guy is going to have a new BFF and very lucky to have him. We are by appointment only & only after verification. If you are not willing to be verified prior to meeting the dog you're interested in, then we do not feel you are best suited for one of our dogs. Serious adopters have no issues being verified for the safety of the dog. Please tell us about yourself, family, lifestyle, other pets, children. Make sure to include a contact number. Puppies under four-months-old are available for transport at the adopters expense via United Airlines ONLY. We do not ship our dogs over four-months-old, you must come to our location in Sylacauga AL 35151 to meet them & for us to meet you. At that time we will go over all training of your new dog so, please plan on being here a minimum of one hour. Verification: 1) We require a letter of reference from your veterinarian or their information for us to contact them for a reference. If providing the reference from them we are looking for: Current pets are altered, on HW prevention, flea prevention, received Rabies vaccination, and all medical they may have needed as advised by your vet. Our screening process is not negotiable, it is set in place to protect our dogs, you the general public, & your current pets & children. If not willing to provide all of the information to ensure the safety of the dog you are inquiring about then please do not waste our time contacting us. If it states the dog cannot be placed with other dogs, then no other dogs, your dog is not the exception just because your dog is friendly & loves everything. While we do not place aggressive dogs back in the general public, we give them sanctuary, not all dogs can peacefully live in a home with another dog. All dogs over six-months-old have been with us for a minimum of 30 days prior to being considered for adoption. All puppies under six-months-old have been with us a minimum of 14 days to insure free of contagious disease. Our adoption fee's are nonnegotiable. The adoption fee does not come close to covering the care of the dog while with us however, the fee goes towards helping the next dog in need. If you cannot afford or are unwilling to pay the fee listed for a fully vetted, fully trained dog then you are not the home we are looking for, for one of our dogs. All of our dogs come crate trained, leash trained, basic obedience trained, & are house broken. The exception is young puppies that are working on housebreaking. We do not teach puppies to puppy pads as I have never understood the concept of teaching any dog that the house is a bathroom. We back our dogs for life & will provide free training for them at our location if a behavior issue occurs, even 10 years from date of adoption. They are UTD on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (exception is puppies under four-months, they go out with a voucher to be altered & if not done so by four-months we void the contract and take the puppy back), microchipped. They are HW- and on prevention for HW's as well as flea & tick medication. In the event they are HW+ (the ad will state if so) we provide all medication to treat plus cover all medical related to until such time they receive two negative test results. HW treatment is noninvasive & simply giving oral medication cures the disease, it is nothing like it use to be. (Less)

It has been said by some that 'When you go in search of honey you must expect to be stung by bees,' but this precious doodlebug is sting-free. Sweet girl appears to be a mix of perhaps American Bulldog, English Bulldog, and Boxer; she is about 3 years old; already spayed and UTD with her vaccinations. She does battle with typical allergies on occasion, but will respond fine with doggy dose of antihistamine like benadryl when pollen heavily in the air or she is around scratchy hay. Honey girl is great with other dogs, both male and female, and photos can't do this gorgeous girl justice. Come meet this little lady at Second Chance Shelter in ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Bulldog in Alabama
Bulldogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The English Bulldog is a stocky breed with an intimidating appearance, but is one of the gentlest types of dogs. However, the Bulldog does have excellent guarding instincts. Bulldogs love human attention. Some bulldogs have a dominant streak and need a master who is firm and exudes leadership. Bulldogs do well with children and make great family pets. Bulldogs can live in an apartment but need a daily walk. Energy levels of Bulldogs vary widely but the breed is relatively inactive indoors. Bulldogs are prone to health problems and tend to slobber profusely.
